Here’re a few activities in the Lake District in February 2018

Whether it’s something cosy and warm, like sitting by a fire with a brandy, or visiting exhibition, or enjoying the theatre…or just getting outside, there’s plenty to do here. Here’s a run through of some of the things we found you can do in The Lake District In February.

Is There Really A Ski Season In The Lake District?

We sometimes get a bit of snow in the Lake District in February – it’s usually on the tops, or just high enough to get in a bit of ski ing or snowboarding.

Whereas plenty of people are surprised that we don’t actually have a great deal of problem with snow on the roads, they are even more surprised by snow conditions just a little higher up the fells.

We can’t claim an actual ski season here in the Lake District, but those who are able to jump when the chance comes along, can find themselves out on the white stuff a number of times.

And if that’s a bit hardcore, then there’s usually a sledge or three for sale in Keswick.

UNTIL 18 FEBRUARY 2018

If art is your thing, then this is definitely for you. It’s a fantastic exhibition of print makers, and you can browse the works, learn about the processes, meet the artists – and maybe even buy a piece. And entry is FREE.

Within Rheged, just outside Penrith, there are also small interesting shops to visit, plus cafes and restaurants, so makes a lovely trip out.
