Skelgill Farm

Skelgill Farm is the birthplace of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, and real home of Lucie Carr from the famous “Beatrix Potter” books.The house has six bedrooms, two of which are en suite. Three bathrooms and two reception rooms. Both of the reception rooms have open fires, and there’s a pool table too. This house will truly take you back 200 years as you relax by two open fires and gaze out at the views across newlands valley.Two bedrooms have double beds, one has a super king size bed. Two adjoining rooms rooms with a small double in one and a single in the other and then there’s one good sized room with bunk beds plus a single. You can comfortably sleep twelve.The cottage has a traditional large lakeland kitchen with Aga and dishwasher.
This house is located perfectly for walks around Keswick, Borrowdale and surrounding areas. Hawse End jetty is nearby for The Keswick Launch, on Derwentwater. Skelgill sits at the foot of the iconic ‘Catbells’. There are gardens front and back, and the nearest pub, The Swinside Inn is a 10-15 minute walk.
